Confidence

June 8, 2016 Comments : 5

I think all of us can safely say we can lack confidence at times. It can be from silly things like asking for another pen in the middle of an exam because yours has run out, or from more serious things such as waiting on blood tests results.

We have a lot going on in each of our lives and at times we don’t want to plunge in at the deep end in case everything goes tits up, am I right?

Emma’s Bookery \ What’s NEW?

May 23, 2016 Comments : 2

Hey everyone! It feels like a long long time since I have spoken to you all directly, and so today I just wanted to thank you all for sticking with me and this blog.

For the past few weeks I have been working on quite a few changes to suit me better. I have switched over to WordPress because my Blogger kept deleting posts and removing my comments for no reason. Despite asking for help on the matter it didn’t solve the problem, therefore switching to WordPress has made editing a lot easier and I now have the comments system Disqus installed- yay!

You may or may not have noticed but I have also purchased my very own domain and as silly as this sounds I just feel like this blog is completely my own now.

Reasons To Stay Alive by Matt Haig

Reasons To Stay Alive by Matt Haig ~Goodreads~
Published by Canongate Books 2015
Paperback edition 266 pages ~Book Depository~
SYNOPSIS
“I want life. I want to read it and write it and feel it and live it. I want, for as much of the time as possible in this blink-of-an-eye existence we have, to feel all that can be felt. I hate depression. I am scared of it. Terrified, in fact. But at the same time, it has made me who I am. And if-for-me-it is the price of feeling life, it’s a price always worth paying.”
Reasons To Stay Alive is about making the most of your time on earth. In the western world the suicide rate is highest amongst men under the age of 36. Matt Haig could have added to that statistic when, aged 24, he found himself staring at a cliff-edge about to jump off. This is the story of why he didn’t, how he recovered and learned to live with anxiety and depression. It’s also an upbeat, joyous and very funny exploration of how live better, love better, read better, and feel more.

Life Break

July 21, 2014 Leave a Comment

Well I’m back from my weekend away. I definitely needed the break from everything and I’m feeling refreshed.

So let me tell you what’s been going on. I know I don’t often talk about what’s going on in my life but I would like to perhaps once a month just give you a snippet into what I’ve been up to.

Center Parcs is a short break company that has many places in the UK in woodland areas where families, couples, friends etc, can take a wide range of sporting activities. I’m not the most sporty person in the world but even I enjoy it a lot. I’ve been going there since I can remember and its never been a disappoint to me. Its a beautiful place to go, you’re in the woods with all the animals in these wooden lodges as your accommodation, and its just so peaceful.

What made this short break even more special was that my best friend Mollie came with me.

Introduction to Emma’s Bookery

January 2, 2014 Leave a Comment

Hello everyone I’m Emma, and I have created this blog as a place where I can share with others my love for books.

I’ve always thought about writing book reviews but it was only until the start of 2014 that I decided to write them up, and file them away on a blog where I can share them with other book lovers. No doubt they will be incredibly amateurish, but I guess my writing will improve as I read other reviews myself and hopefully develop my own style. Not only do I want this blog to be a place where I can write my review to share with others, but I hope it becomes a way of encouraging more people to read. These days it seems that we’re glued to our phones and tablets, and I find it incredibly sad when I see children following in our footsteps and not even picking up a book. Books give me so much joy, and I think that’s the message I want to put across with this blog.
