I feel like I should start with hello middle of October? I have been SO slack with this blog recently, and I feel a little disheartened about it all. To put it simply life gets busy sometimes and I have other things to be doing besides creating content for this blog, and its sad for myself of course but I don’t want to force content that doesn’t interest me or you guys.
So here I am, with a fresh mind and deciding to create a September Wrap-Up post when November isn’t too far away, well that’s how the cookie crumbles!
What went on in September then? To be honest I can’t remember a great deal haha. The beginning of the month I spent a lot of time with Sam and enjoying as much of time we had left of our summer holiday, and we did. I took Sam to see the Jersey Boys musical in London for an early birthday surprise, and just generally hanging out with each other before university looms for the both of us.
Regarding books? Well I can’t comment that it was a good month, because I felt like I read literally nothing. I did manage a few though…
READ AND REVIEWED
Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith
Othello by William Shakespeare
As you can see, not a great deal of reading this month. However, there’s quite a variety. A graphic novel, a screenplay, crime fiction, and a play by one of the greatest playwrights. So y’know in terms of diversity I think I won in September, and I did enjoy reading these a lot. Othello was a university read, and I actually didn’t feel like it was force read. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, but writing this first essay of the year from one of its passages, I’m not so enthusiastic about.
Well, all I can say is that my love of books runs in the family and after spending time with my Gran I ended up going through her bookshelves and bringing some of these back with me- eeek!
My two university books I have purchased are Othello and Oroonoko.
The rest are all pretty much crime thriller’s, and I know my Gran only reads books she really enjoys otherwise she gives up so I can already recommend these books to you all!
PLAN FOR OCTOBER
October for me is the start of another academic year with the Open University, and I am SO looking forward to studying this year. Two new modules and lots of interesting topics to keep my mind occupied, and like always I can only hope my enthusiasm and motivation remains intact!
Sam’s birthday was at the beginning of the month too so I took myself up their for a visit, and I think he had a good day so that’s the main thing! I bought him a new hoodie from H&M, the new Jungle Book on DVD, chocolate digestive balls, popping candy, a Lush ‘intergalactic’ bath bomb, popcorn, and a few jokey presents from Tiger (worm in the apple, an ostrich eraser, and magic beans). You probably all think I’m bizarre but we’re easily entertained!
So I guess my plans for this month are to get ahead start with my studies, read more, and not over do things. I’ve also started my Christmas shopping…I know Halloween hasn’t even arrived yet but I liked to be prepared and get my creative head on for some fun presents.
I would also really love to do some knitting, but I need to buy yarn and well I’m the poorest of them all currently.
I’m going to enjoy the cooler days, and the autumnal feels of making hot chocolate, lighting my wood fire in the lounge and cuddling up with a good book. Autumn seriously is the best season!
What are you all up to in October? I hope its a great one for you all. xxxxxxxxx
(I felt pretty today so here’s me being vain)
