Hello September! Where did August even disappear to? It didn’t feel too long ago that I was away in the South of France for my summer holiday, but never mind Autumn is coming soon and Christmas is in the distance. I’m actually in awe of how quickly 2016 has gone, and when I think back to the beginning of the year everything was so different to now.
Oh and can we all appreciate that these past couple of weeks I’ve started the “Couch to 5k,” (yeah I know I wouldn’t believe it either but its true I tell you!) so far so good. I’m determined to stick to it, I’ve surprised myself so far and I have lost three and a half pounds in weight also *jumps in the air*!
In other news. I’m currently awaiting for my Year Two Open University books to arrive in the post so I can get going with this new academic year, and as geeky as this sounds I can’t wait to get back into it!
(Annoyingly I’ve given some of the books I’ve read this month away or lent them to friends, so they don’t feature in the photo).
Well August was a successful month for reading, I managed two picture books, the new Harry Potter play, some nonfiction, a retelling, graphic novel, a thriller, and a chick-lit. A pretty well rounded bit of reading wouldn’t you say?
Be sure to check out my Harry Potter and the Cursed Child review as I know there are so many differing opinions about and I would love to hear your thoughts!
The book I would recommend out of all of these would be I Am Malala, a brilliant book that all of my friends and family are now desperate to read!
I’d like to call this a modest book haul, and one I’m happy with.
I’m pretty determined to get all of the Little Black Classics from Penguin because they’re such lovely small reads for when I’m in a bit of a reading slump.
I won Eden Summer from Maximum Pop Books! Them guys are so generous with their giveaways.
I spotted The Secret by Kathryn Hughes on Bookbridgr and I just had to request it after reading her debut novel, The Letter last year.
Are there any books you think I should buy in September?
I guess my main aim for September is to get back into my Open University and get a good head start before Year Two officially starts in October, I know very nerdy of me.
My other plans are to spend as much time with Sam before we both begin university again, and I have a couple of surprises up my sleeves for him- all will be revealed!
Other than academic and social plans I would like to be more organised with this blog again. I feel like these past couple of months I haven’t produced the content I’m dying to share with you all, and so it’s my small aim for the rest of 2016 to get my blog to where I want it to be.
Thank you all for your continued support by the way- you’re all wonderful! xx
